Israel Anti-Drug Authority (IADA) is a statutory corporation established by virtue of the “Israel Anti-Drug Authority Law”, at the end of 1988. IADA is a quasi-governmental agency, which operates under the aegis of the Prime Minister. In 2009, the Israel Knesset approved a decision granting the Ministry of Public Security responsibility for IADA.

IADA is the central body in Israel charged with leading the struggle against the plague of drugs. In 2005, the Israeli government extended IADA’s mandate to include the battle on alcohol abuse.
